Hellenic Police Children's Summer Camps for Children and Families of Police Personnel

Since 1959 the "Welfare and Excellence of the Hellenic Police" Foundation has run the Children's Camps at Agios Andreas, Nea Makri (Attica), for the children of Hellenic Police personnel, serving and retired (400 places). In 2026 the camps without parents ran in five periods, from 19/6 to 16/8/2026, for children born from 2010 to 2019, with applications until 30/4/2026. Serving officers applied online on Police On Line; retired officers and spouses of deceased personnel applied at the police station where they live. If places are not enough, selection uses social (family situation, number of children) and financial criteria (family income). There are also camps with parents, with priority for families with a disabled member, large or three-child families and single-parent families; there each family pays a token amount set by the Foundation's board. Children of other services (Coast Guard, Fire Service) are hosted only by board decision. At the start of each year the Foundation informs the services and the retired officers' associations of the terms; the 2027 call has not been announced yet.
