DEYA Heraklion – Social water tariffs: special tariff for Guaranteed Minimum Income recipients and 40% off for large families, three-child families and people with disabilities

Registered citizens of Heraklion (Crete) who receive the Guaranteed Minimum Income pay only €1 + VAT for the first 25 m³ of water a quarter, with no fixed charge or sewerage fees. Large families, three-child families and people with disabilities get 40% off the DEYA Heraklion household water tariff.

€19 Monthly Student Pass for Heraklion City Buses (Municipality of Heraklion – Region of Crete, 2026-2027)

Students of the University of Crete and the Hellenic Mediterranean University (ELMEPA) at their Heraklion schools buy the Heraklion city-bus (Astiko KTEL) monthly unlimited pass for €19 instead of €45, from October 2026 to June 2027. The Municipality of Heraklion and the Region of Crete pay the difference.

Paid training, work placement and certification (up to €2,250) for unemployed people in the Heraklion regional unit (Heraklion Chamber, Just Transition)

Free counselling, 300 hours of training, 150 hours of work placement and certification for 500 unemployed people who live in the Heraklion regional unit, with a training allowance of €5 an hour (up to €2,250). Applications on the Heraklion Chamber website until the places are filled.

Housing and Work for the Homeless III

Rent and basic-needs subsidy, psychosocial support, subsidised work and training for people and families living without a home, in 89 participating municipalities. You join through the municipality's social service, until December 2028.
