One-off financial aid for police staff from the TAPASA Special Account (Law 826/1978)
One-off aid for serving police officers and civilian staff of the Hellenic Police who are members of the Special Account, for serious or hard-to-treat illness, illness in the line of duty, assisted reproduction, natural disaster or death. Apply through POL, by post or at the fund.
Category A (extremely serious illness): €2,000 + increases; category E (natural disaster): €1,000 + up to 20% depending on per-capita income; the other categories have their own amounts.

Family-status certificate, last year's E1 tax return and assessment, IBAN certificate, consent statement for personal data, medical certificate and, where they exist, disability certification and a certificate of time off work.

What it is
The Law 826/1978 Special Account of the Security Forces Welfare Fund (TAPASA) is contributory: its members pay a monthly contribution and, when one of the events in its rules happens, receive one-off financial aid.
Who is a member: compulsorily, all serving police officers and civilian staff insured in the former Gendarmerie sectors, and everyone who joined the Hellenic Police from 9 February 2023; optionally, insured members of the former City Police sectors with up to 10 years of service (optional enrolment closed on 9 August 2023).
Categories: A extremely serious illness of the member or a family member (e.g. cancer, kidney failure, transplant, disability over 67%); B hard-to-treat illness; C illness in the line of duty; D assisted reproduction; E natural disaster; F death.
Amounts: category A €2,000 plus increases for time off work, annual income and whether the illness is duty-related; category E €1,000 plus up to 20% depending on per-capita income. The other categories have their own amounts.
