EOPYY reimburses therapeutic dressings and wound-healing products for pressure ulcers, burns, leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers and open wounds, with a doctor's opinion.

Εξελκώσεις δέρματος εκ πιέσεως λόγω κατάκλισης, 2. εξελκώσεις δέρματος λόγω χημικού ή θερμικού εγκαύματος μεγαλύτερου ή ίσου του β’ βαθμού, 3. άτονα έλκη κάτω άκρων, 4. διαβητικά έλκη, 5. εξελκώσεις δέρματος λόγω ακτινικής δερματίτιδας, 6. εξελκώσεις δέρματος λόγω επιδερμόλυσης, 7. ανοιχτά τραύματα μετά από χειρουργικές επεμβάσεις ή σοβαρούς τραυματισμούς, 8. γάγγραινα όλων των κατηγοριών.» · Checked: 2026-10-02

What it is

EOPYY reimburses skin-lesion healing products (therapeutic dressings) for eight conditions: pressure ulcers, chemical or thermal burns of second degree or higher, chronic leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers, ulcers from radiation dermatitis or epidermolysis, open wounds after surgery or serious injury, and gangrene.

Lesions on the face, the mucosa of the mouth and anus and on fingers and toes are not covered (except diabetic ulcers on the toes). Reimbursement is given for up to one month, or up to two months for patients with a motor disability such as tetraplegia or paraplegia; more pieces, a higher cost or a longer period need the approval of the competent EOPYY health committee after the treating doctor's opinion. Only products in the EOPYY register of reimbursed products are covered, from contracted providers or EOPYY pharmacies. People without insurance get consumables free of charge through public health services.
